Nicole Maxali (pronounced “Mah-SHAH-Lee”) is a third-generation Filipino-American (they exist!) comedienne, writer, producer, and actress from the Bay Area, currently living and making waves in NYC. We talked about her journey into the world of comedy, the challenges of being a woman of color in the business, and writing stories that speak to female audiences.
Her upcoming projects include 2 web series and a short film based on her one-woman show, Forgetting the Details, “an endearing performance piece that captures the unwavering love between a lola (grandmother) and apo (grandchild).”
